Mrs Porter has been poorly !

Our teacher, Mrs Porter, was poorly last week, but we were very lucky to have Miss Lyons to help us with our learning. In our maths lessons we tried lots of activities with patterns and sequences. Moses and Marley were very good at it.

I put a pattern with cubes and my friend had to copy me- Marley

We have also been writing poems. This is our poem about 'The Sound Collector'. It is based on the poem by Roger McGough.
The Sound Collector
His poem is about sounds taken from the home, but we wrote about sounds taken from school -

The elephants walked round school today, as silently as can be.
They put these sounds into a bag and described them for me……
The whooshing of the dryer
The talk of Mr Leach
The coughing Mrs Mac and the stamping of the feet.
The rattle of the shutter
The crashing of the lids
The screaming and the shouting of the Academy kids
The squeaking of the gate
The crunching of the leaves
The ‘neeeaw’ of the aeroplane flying past the trees.

Do you have similar sounds at your school?

  1. I LIKE your pattern and your maths

I like your puppy class pet. It has the same name as me but is spelt differently.

  2. We did poetry before the holidays. We learnt the boneyard rap, and 'The magic Box' by Kit Wright.

    We liked your poem,

Sometimes in our school, it is quiet, sometimes we hear whispering, sometimes we hear shouting!

We can hear the whirl of the projector.

The clanking of the pans and plates at dinner time.
